On Friday, March 13, Upland Brewing Company hosted the other Bloomington area breweries (Bloomington Brewing Company, Heartwork Brewing, The Tap, and Towaki Brewing Company) and brewed a collaboration beer based around historical records from the Founding Fathers' homebrews.
The yeast used to ferment the beer was isolated from a 250-year-old oak tree (#FauxHistoricYeast) as part of an ongoing yeast hunting project in the Bochman Lab. The beer will first be released on April 11 at Spring Fest, an annual Indiana Brewers Guild's festival at historic Woolery Mill. For details about Spring Fest, please visit this link!
