The Bochman lab was awarded an equipment supplement from the NIH to purchase four new Cerillo Stratus plate readers. These instruments have no moving parts and are incredibly robust, which will allow researchers to perform continuous real-time measurements of optical density in multi-well plates. The Bochman lab uses plate readers for chemogenetics experiments and fermentation research, both focused on the brewer's yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
