The Biochemistry Graduate Representative Committee, or BiochemGRC, is a graduate student organization through which students may help to shape the Biochemistry Graduate Program at IU Bloomington. The GRC can address issues of both academic and social nature that pertain to the graduate student population. The GRC is not a legislative body, but rather aims to foster cooperative and positive relationships and communication between faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students. We also seek to promote the professional development of graduate students, celebrate their academic and professional successes, and support their concerns in constructive and tactful ways.
Hello, I’m Nora and I am a fifth-year graduate student in the Zlotnick lab. I study HBV and DHBV structure using cryoEM, in particular the organization of the DHBV DNA genome. Hi! I am Edward Sarrain, a fifth-year Biochemistry PhD candidate in the Niu lab. I work in trying to understand how the processing of genomic ribonucleotides by topoisomerase 1 is regulated by PARP1 in humans. When I am not in the lab, I like to watch sports (especially baseball, volleyball, and sumo wrestling), try new foods, and read about history.
